Gaming: routes that put latency first

Built for online games where response time matters. This category admits only nodes that meet the latency threshold, doubles the jitter penalty in the score and forwards UDP traffic with priority.

Latency-first filtering and ranking

Only nodes that meet the latency threshold enter the Gaming category. They are then ranked by the weighted score with a doubled penalty for latency variation (jitter), to reduce the stutter of a game that alternates between fast and slow.

UDP-priority forwarding

Most online games use UDP. Gaming routes forward UDP traffic with priority to keep queueing short and to reduce the rollbacks and stutter caused by packet loss.

Node coverage

Nodes are located in major Asia-Pacific cities: Hong Kong, Taipei, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul and Singapore, so you can join game servers in the region from nearby.

Node coverage

Nodes in these cities enter the Gaming category when they meet the latency threshold; node counts change with the live network.

How to use it

Three steps to switch to Gaming.

  1. 1

    Open the node tab

Switch to the node tab at the bottom of the app.

  2. 2

    Choose Gaming

Pick Gaming from the categories at the top; the list shows only nodes that match this scene's strategy.

  3. 3

    Tap connect

Let the app join the best node automatically, or pick a city yourself and add it to your favourites.

Frequently asked questions

More answers in the Support Center, or email us directly.

How much latency does Gaming remove?

It depends on your network and where the game server is. The route gives you a steadier path with less jitter; it cannot change physical distance. Choosing a node in the same region as the game server works best.

Which games are supported?

The routes are not tied to particular games; any game played over the network can use them, and games that use UDP benefit the most.

Can I use Gaming during the 3-day trial?

Yes when you select Standard or a higher plan. Trial access follows the features of the subscription you selected.

Are other apps affected while Gaming is connected?

The tunnel applies to all network traffic on the device, so other apps travel through the same node; you will normally not notice any difference.
