TP VPN has no traditional passwords. Identity is handled by Privy, and several methods can sign you in to the same account. Your subscription, devices and reward days belong to the account, not to any single device. This guide covers the sign-in methods, what to watch for when changing devices, what the @handle does and how to delete an account.

Supported sign-in methods

MethodHow it worksAvailable on
Email codeEnter your email address and type the 6-digit code we sendiOS, Android, website
PasskeyVerify with Face ID, Touch ID or your fingerprint; the passkey syncs through iCloud Keychain or Google Password ManageriOS, Android, website
Apple IDSign in with AppleiOS, website
Crypto walletSign a message with a Web3 walletiOS, Android, website
TelegramAuthorise through TelegramiOS, Android, website

Your account is created automatically on first sign-in. A VPN subscription is still required: choose a plan to start an eligible 3-day trial. The methods linked to your account are listed under Me → Account details → Sign-in methods.

Sign in the same way you registered

Each method is a separate credential. If you sign in with a method that was never linked to your account, a new, empty account without a subscription may be created. If you do not see your subscription after signing in, sign out and use the method you registered with.

Changing devices

  1. Install TP VPN on the new device and sign in with the same method as before.
  2. On the first connection the new device registers itself and generates a fresh key pair; the old device's key is never transferred.
  3. If the app says the device limit is reached, remove the old device under Me → Devices; see Device limit and unbinding.
  4. If a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play does not show as active on the new device, tap Restore purchases on the Plans tab.

If you use a passkey, make sure the new device is signed in to the same iCloud or Google account so the passkey can sync. If it cannot, sign in with another linked method such as the email code.

What the @handle is and how to change it

Your @handle is your public account identifier, for example @night_fox42. It is used for:

  • your invite link tpvpn.com/@handle: when a friend signs up through it and completes their first subscription, you both receive 30 bonus days;
  • identifying your account when you contact support;
  • confirming the account on the website sign-in and redeem pages.

Rules: 3 to 15 lowercase letters, digits or underscores, not purely numeric, and not a reserved word. The @handle contains no personal information. One is assigned automatically at registration, and you can change it under Me → Account details → Change ID. Under the Terms of Service, a handle can be changed once every 30 days, and a released handle is held for 90 days before anyone else can take it, to prevent impersonation.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself without contacting support. Check two things first; they are the most common source of disputes:

  • Deleting the account does not cancel a store subscription. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are managed by Apple or Google; cancel them in the store first, otherwise the store keeps charging.
  • Deleting the account does not refund anything. Remaining subscription time is forfeited. If you want a refund, request it under the Refund Policy and wait until it is complete.

From the website (30-day cooling-off period)

  1. Open the account deletion page and sign in, or enter your @handle and a contact email as prompted.
  2. Choose the scope: "Delete data only" erases sessions, connection records, devices and tickets while keeping the account and subscription; "Delete the account" additionally unlinks every sign-in method, releases the @handle and ends the subscription.
  3. After confirmation all devices go offline immediately and the account enters a 30-day cooling-off period. You can cancel at any time through the link in the confirmation email; we send reminders on day 1 and day 23.
  4. When the period ends, the deletion is executed, and residual copies on backup media disappear within 90 days as backups rotate.

If you are certain you no longer need the account, you can tick "skip the cooling-off period and execute immediately" on the deletion page; that choice cannot be undone.

From the app

Go to Me → Account details → Delete account, type your @handle to confirm and submit. Deletion from the app executes immediately and cannot be undone, so complete any refund and cancel store subscriptions first.

Only two things survive deletion: transaction records within their statutory retention period, minimised so they no longer identify you beyond what the law requires, and an irreversible hash used to stop a banned account from immediately re-registering; the full description is in the Account Deletion Policy and the Privacy Policy. You may register again afterwards, but the new account inherits no subscription, referral relationship or history.

To change the linked email address, or if you do not remember which method you registered with, open a ticket under Me → Help & support → New ticket or email support@tpvpn.com, and include your @handle or an order number so we can verify your identity.
